Shareholder sues Google over alleged cover-up

Google is facing some serious accusations and even a lawsuit from one of its shareholders. The lawsuit alleges that Google looked into credible accusations of sexual harassment and then concealed it from the public.

Part of the issue is that two executives who left the company were given large severance packages on their way out.

For instance, one man was accused of coercing another employee into sexual actions in a hotel. He was then asked to resign after the allegations came forward. When he did, though, the company gave him a severance package worth $90 million.

The other man worked at Google back in 2016, and he was then accused of harassing one of the company’s employees. He also resigned, and he then started working with Uber, where he was a senior vice president of engineering. Uber then found out about the accusations from his time at Google, and he left that company in 2017.

It is important to note that much of this hangs on accusations and allegations at this time. Both men have said that they deny any wrongdoing, and neither one of them appears to have been convicted of a crime.

This lawsuit comes after the walkout in November 2018, in which 20,000 people who worked for or with Google protested against the way that the company deals with allegations of sexual harassment.

This case helps to show just how complex these cases can be and how many people may be involved. It is very important for employees who have been harassed to know what legal steps they can take.
